Social Media & Content Marketing Interns

We’re currently looking for a talented and thoughtful interns to support our social media, blogging, community engagement, and brand development. These positions include:

  • Community Outreach & Local Marketing Intern
  • PR & Book Marketing Intern for Esther Boykin’s The Date Deck
  •  Digital & Social Media Marketing Intern

Community Outreach & Local Marketing Intern

Duties:

  • Assist with development, marketing, and execution of promotional events to connect or collaborate with local organizations and/or potential clients
  • Develop and update contact list of local media- print, television, radio, and bloggers/podcasts that are locally based
  • Assist in developing pitches and contacting local media to generate media coverage of GTA
  • Assist with management of local referral source contact list and when necessary email or snail mail campaigns
  • Contact via phone local referral sources to include other therapists, doctors, clinics, schools, or community organizations to schedule informational meetings for CEO and/or workshops to be conducted by clinical staff
  • Write weekly blog posts related to mental health, adolescent development, couple dynamics, and other appropriate topics
  • Edit, print, copy, and disseminate marketing materials and mass print communications (e.g. flyers, letters to other health professionals)
  • Track and report monthly referral sources that resulted in new clients and occasional other administrative duties (copying, updating documents, occasional phone calls)

Requirements:

  • Have reliable and secure internet access
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a professional phone etiquette
  • Familiarity writing press releases and similar marketing materials is a preferred
  • Available for one regular monthly meeting in office
  • Available for a minimum of 8-10 hours per week (not including monthly meeting)
  • Academic or professional background in a public relations, entrepreneurship, or marketing with a strong interest in mental health and wellness. Other relevant experience will be considered in choosing the right candidate.
  • Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply.

Compensation:

This is an unpaid intern position; however, interns are deeply valued and in addition to the experience above the following forms of compensation are provided

  • An additional 1 hour per month of private coaching or mentorship related to your professional development. (this is available at your request at any time)
  • The opportunity to co-present, assist and/or attend live events and/or online events.
  • The opportunity to have your writing published on Group Therapy Associates’ blog.
  • Use of your work for your own portfolio development.
  • Documentation of your internship, which you may submit to your university for academic credit or use in your job-hunting efforts.   If you are seeking academic credit you, must be aware of the requirements of your college and university, and you must in writing to ensure we can provide the necessary documentation.

PR & Marketing Intern for The Date Deck

Duties:

  • Track and help Esther respond to HARO and RadioGuestList.com queries to book interviews.
  • Assist with development and execution of marketing promotional events- both live events and online (e.g. webinars, online contests, blog & video series)
  • Write weekly blog posts related to mental health, adolescent development, couple dynamics, and other appropriate topics
  • Assist in writing, editing and revising press releases, marketing-related webpages, and social profiles for Esther Boykin and her book The Date Deck
  • Build and grow a Facebook and Google+ page for The Date Deck (start/continue discussions, ensure new blog posts and events are posted on the Wall, etc.)
  • Track and report weekly book sales as well as some occasional general administrative duties (copying, updating documents, phone calls)

Requirements:

  • Have reliable and secure internet access
  • Familiarity/proficiency with social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, LinkedIn
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity writing for an online audience; experience using WordPress is a plus
  • Good customer service skills
  • Available for a weekly meeting in office or by Skype/FaceTime
  • Available for a minimum of 8-10 hours per week (most work can be done from home)
  • Academic or professional background in a public relations, entrepreneurship, or marketing with a strong interest in mental health and wellness. Other relevant experience will be considered in choosing the right candidate.
  • Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply.

Digital & Social Media Marketing Intern

Duties:

  • Assist with development and execution of online marketing campaigns including video/podcast series, social media contests, special blog series
  • Contact potential guest bloggers as well as contribute a bi-monthly blog posts related to mental health, adolescent development, relationships/marriage, dating, and other wellness topics.
  • Use our online editorial calendar to schedule social media messages for all active blog posts, upcoming events, specific services, and other marketing campaigns (Training is provided for the use of CoSchedule ediotral calendar
  • Grow Group Therapy Associates social media accounts through daily and weekly scheduled posts and engagement with followers on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+.
  • Track and report activity on all social media accounts (i.e. number of new followers for Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest and YouTube, any trends in popular post topics or formats).
  • Update GTA’s online profiles such as LinkedIn, Google+, Yelp, AngiesList, other online directories and customer feedback sites to reflect current data, logo, photos, and social media accounts.

Requirements:

  • Have reliable and secure internet access
