I am a mom who juggles a busy life and I love it that way. I’m a wife to a Navy Captain who is my assistant juggler. (I’m not sure he’d agree with me. He likes to think he’s the boss.) I’m a romance author who actually believes in happily ever after. Finally, I’m a marriage and family therapist who feels strongly that anyone can change anything in their lives.
I am experienced with all areas of therapy. My favorite time at work is spent working with clients who are invested in their own change – no matter what issues they face. I believe that good therapy is an evolving partnership which allows the client to do the work for themselves. My therapeutic theme – there is a solution for everything. Now all we have to do is find it.

I am a graduate of the Marriage and Family Therapy Program of Virginia Tech who appreciates working with relationships of all kinds. I have often joked that I would meet with couples and families on the street if I were allowed to—that is how passionate I am about this work!
I have completed training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, a model of therapy I use to help family members and couples better understand each other, and to exit the cycle of frustration and conflict they have found themselves stuck in. Also, through my work at an addiction treatment center, I have developed significant experience working with individuals and relationships managing substance abuse, depression, and anxiety.
My key interests are improving couple/family connection; step-parenting and blended families; individuals/relationships dealing with substance abuse, anxiety or depression; adolescents and their parents; and intercultural relationships.

I am a graduate of The Margaret E. Warner Graduate School of Higher Education and Human Development and I specialize in individual, family, and group therapy. I adore working with adolescents and their families and have done so for many years. have not only provided therapy but also diagnostic assessments, recommendations and service coordination to a wide range of families from many cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
I appreciate the courage it requires for people to recognize the need for support, ask for it and follow through, and the strength of those who choose to open themselves up and share their most private experiences in the hopes of gaining insight or making a change. I am honored to be part of their journey as they reconnect with themselves and others in a meaningful way.

I’m a Virginia native born and raised in Fairfax. Since earning my Master of Science degree from Virginia Tech , I have worked in a variety of mental health settings including: psychiatric inpatient hospital, parenting programs, home-based counseling and mentoring , couples groups, and outpatient mental health. We did our residency together and here we are 13 years later continuing to grow as therapists together.
My areas of interest include: family dynamics, parent-child interaction, women’s issues, mindfulness, mind/ body connections, anxiety , and depression. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I see the therapeutic relationship as essential to change and growth. Through my work, I support each client in meeting their goals while providing a safe and nurturing environment to do so.

I’m a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I’ve spent my entire clinical career working in private practice here in Northern Virginia and continue to love what I do.
While I’m experienced in working with all types of people and relationships, my areas of interest are couple dynamics, pre-marital counseling, relationship maintenance, and working with trauma survivors. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with the state of Virginia and my work is rooted in the belief that good mental health begins with compassionate guidance and healthy relationships. My therapy approach focuses on meeting you where you are and patiently supporting your unique journey of personal growth.
In addition to my clinical work, I’m also a writer. My book, The Date Deck, is available on amazon.com and I’m currently working on a new relationship book for couples due out in 2014.
