Childhood is a time for lots of learning and as parents you want to help your kids succeed… and we want to help you do that. Social skills are as critical to your child’s academic achievement as science and spelling.
But just like academic skills, sometimes kids struggle to keep up with their peers and the expectations of adults. They want to make friends and pay attention in class but for some, it’s a daily battle. One that often turns into poor grades and negative behavior reports as children move into upper elementary school.
Whether your kid is shy and quiet or boisterous and disruptive, our 6-week social skills class for 4th and 5th graders* will help them develop the tools they need to put their best foot forward before they face the transition to middle school.
In our Kids Under Construction program you’ll get:
- Six weekly classes led by our licensed family therapists who will guide kids through hands-on skill building activities
- Two 30-minute parent sessions to answer your questions & give you tips on how to maximize the program at home
- Access to a private online resource group for parents with tools and updates from the class leader
And your child will learn:
- How to manage anger and resolve conflict at home & at school
- Create healthy peer relationships and build self-confidence
- How to ask for help when they need it and express their feelings in appropriately
- To improve their self-control and increase their ability to act appropriately in various settings including school, at play with peers, and at home with family.
