Get to Know GTA

who we are drives what we do…

We help you rewrite your story… and the narrative of mental health care.

Together, we help you write the next chapter of your life.  At Group Therapy Associates, you’ll find creative and compassionate professionals who are committed to helping you reach your goals. We offer individual, couples, and family counseling, and groups for kids and adults.

So often we find ourselves in patterns of thought and behavior that aren’t serving us. At GTA, we help you break out of these cycles, by giving you the space to create a new story and expand into your fuller self. We support you in taking the next steps, and provide tools to help you transform these conversations into real change. Get to know us better by checking out our profiles below.

We believe the story doesn’t end in the therapy room, which is why we started Therapy is Not a Dirty Word. With happy hours, workshops, and retreats, we bring the conversation off the couch and into the larger world.  These events connect you with mental health and relationship professionals in richly curated spaces, with great food and drinks. Think of it as the perfect dinner party that nourishes mind, body, and spirit.

What our clients are saying…

“It is a comfortable space for us to think through issues and challenges me to continually bring things we talk about in our sessions into our everyday life.”
“I have been able to set boundaries for people in my life. I have also been able to focus on what I need out of relationships verses what I expect others to do.”
“I have attended counseling off and on for years and have found my counselor here to offer the best therapy techniques yet.”

Candor

Compassion

Compassion is an honoring of the humanity within each of us, a commitment to looking at our flawed, messy, imperfect lives with the lens of love and empathy.

Connection

GTA believes in cultivating the emotional awareness, relational skills, and healthy boundaries necessary to make meaningful connections thrive.

Cultural Attunement

GTA is committed to go beyond acceptance to find ways to honor the complex layers of race, ethnicity, culture, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and a myriad other factors that work to inform and influence how we each show up in the world.

Curiousity

GTA honors learning, both the intellectual book-based kind and the emotional intuitive act of seeking answers within.

Love

GTA believes in rooting all of our work in full and layered definition of love- a deep commitment to growth and unconditional value for yourself, for each other, for our communities.

Optimism

Optimism is fundamental to growth because it seeks to look as clearly as possible at what’s wrong and what could go wrong as the first step in making a plan to help things go right.

Personal Accountability

GTA is committed to holding ourselves accountable for the impact, intentional or unintentional, of our choices with a firm commitment to repairing relationships and learning from the inevitable mistakes along the way.
